Samsung Shakes India With The World's Biggest Smartphone Factory
You cannot talk about smartphones without mentioning Samsung. The South Korean company has made its presence felt all around the world, and India is about to feel Samsung more.
As a big player in the Indian mobile market, Samsung is expecting the revenue from India to keep increasing, and in order to be able to supply when the demand for their phones come, they have decided to open the world’s largest smartphone factory in India.
Based in the city of Noida, this 35 acres plant has the potential to produce twice the amount of Samsung’s output once it is fully functional. This means that the plant could manufacture 120 million units of phones as against the 60 million units it is currently producing.
Samsung estimates that it would take about 3 years before the plant reaches its full potential. This expansion is good for the community as Samsung is expected to employ about 5,000 new people.
The type of phones that would be produced at the plant are not yet confirmed, but it is expected that it is the low-end phones because these ones have chosen to be very popular in India.
